Scots give striker time off to wed

Scotland striker Don Hutchison has been given permission to miss two Euro 2000 qualifiers next month to carry on with his wedding plans.

The Everton striker had arranged at the turn of the year to wed his fiance on the holiday island of Jamaica but his inclusion the Scottish international side had threatened to shatter his hopes of a June wedding.

Hutchison is negotiating a new contract with his Premiership club and scored the Scots' winner last month during their victory in Germany. Craig Brown's team plays the Faroe Islands on June 5th before a trip to the Czech Republic on thee 9th. The squad contains three new goalkeepers in Jonathan Gould, Robert Douglas and Alan Main.

Defenders: Boyd (Celtic), Calderwood (Aston Villa), Davidson (Blackburn Rovers), Elliott (Leicester City), Hendry (Rangers), Ritchie (Hearts), Weir (Everton), Whyte (Aberdeen).

Midfielders: Burley (Celtic), Cameron (Hearts), Durrant (Kilmarnock), Gemmill (Everton), Johnston (Sunderland), Lambert (Celtic).
