French World Cup winner Zinedine Zidane has been forced out of the squad to play a friendly at Hampden Park Glasgow on Wednesday amid fears of a new knee injury.
The Juventus player underwent knee surgery last year and the same leg was jolted in a collision in the 2-0 loss at AC Milan on Friday night.
A swollen right knee puts Zidane out of the friendly with Scotland and he is also set to miss the top Serie A clash of next weekend when leaders Juve host title rivals SS Lazio in Turin.
Goalkeeper Lionel Barthez has also pulled out of the trip to Scotland with a thigh strain.
AS Monaco striker David Trezeguet is a likely starter in the game on Wednesday after coach Roger lemerre drafted him into the squad following a head injury to Christophe Dugarry yesterday.
Zidane will be deputised by Bordeaux midfielder Johan Micoud while Barthez' place is taken by Lionel Latizi of Metz.
