Chelsea defender Gallas chased by Barcelona

France international William Gallas has cast doubt on his future at Chelsea, saying he is considering an offer from Spanish side Barcelona.

The 25-year-old defender has a clause in his contract which states he can leave for 7.5 million pounds (12 million dollars) and he said Barcelona had asked to talk to his agent Pape Diouf.

"It's true, Barcelona have made an offer but I have not signed anything," he told his website.

Rumours have circulated that Gallas will leave Stamford Bridge for the Nou Camp this summer, especially after the player launched a scathing attack on manager Claudio Ranieri.

He said he was keen to stay in London if Chelsea strengthened their squad.

"I hope to win something next year and hopefully with Chelsea," he said. "A lot will depend on the recruiting but we're going to play on four fronts next season and we must win one of the four. I'd like to win something with Chelsea, the door isn't closed."

Chelsea finished fourth behind champions Manchester United in the English Premiership last season to qualify for the Champions League.

Gallas, who partners France captain Marcel Desailly at Chelsea who also have newly-capped England international John Terry, said he would take a three-week holiday after taking part in the Confederations Cup and discuss his future on his return.

"Barca is a club with a big history, an impressive record," he said.
