Fulham rule out O'Leary for manager's job

English Premiership side Fulham said that they had ruled out former Leeds boss David O'Leary as a successor to Jean Tigana.

Tigana was told last week his contract would not be renewed in the summer.

Fulham said on Monday, they were looking for someone cheaper with a successful track record working on a limited budget. Former Watford and Chelsea manager Ginaluca Vialli also failed to make the shortlist.

Fulham say they will not be rushed into making an appointment and the final decision will lie with chairman Mohamed Fayed, whose move to Switzerland for tax reasons last week will not affect the club.

One player likely to leave in the summer is French midfielder Steed Malbranque who has a clause in his contract allowing him to leave for around five million pounds when Tigana's contract ends.
