English Premiership survivors Bolton have signed Greek international Stelios Giannakopoulos after he turned his back on Greek champions Olympiakos.
The 28-year-old midfielder has agreed a three-year deal, according to Bolton's official website.
Giannakopoulos scored 13 goals in 28 games for his club last season and has won 17 caps for his country.
"Stelios is a highly rated player in his homeland and he is looking forward to playing for us," said Bolton manager Sam Allardyce.
"I have been tracking his career for quite some time and I am confident that he will add a new dimension to our squad.
"He has done it at the highest level in Europe in the Champions League and he is relishing the prospect of playing alongside our top-line players in the Premiership.
"It will be exciting playing alongside the likes of Jay Jay Okocha and Youri Djorkaeff.
The signings of Okocha, a Nigerian, and French World Cup-winning midfielder Djorkaeff helped Bolton to stave off relegation in the recently completed season.
