Valencia's Angulo heads for Highbury

Valencia forward Miguel Angel Angulo headed for London to sign a four-year deal worth five million euros with English Premiership champions Arsenal, club officials said.

Spanish champions Valencia had Sunday excused Angulo, a mainstay of the club's march to the league and UEFA Cup double last season, from training as the 26-year-old weighed up the merits of a move.

Angulo, who would have been a free agent had he moved next summer, is more known for his goal-making qualities rather than his own sharpshooting, having netted just 37 goals in 240 Spanish league games.

At Highbury he will join compatriots Jose Antonio Reyes and Francesc Fabregas.
