Former German national coach Rudi Voller, pictured in June announcing his resignation, is in talks with first division Italian club Roma
Former German national coach Rudi Voller is in talks with first division Italian club Roma, the German press reported.
Voller, 44, said he had held a "good interview" with Roma director, Marco Baldini in Munich on Sunday.
"Now I will discuss it with my family. There will be a decision within 48 hours," Voller said.
The winner of the 1990 World Cup as a player said he was also holding talks with German first division club Bayer Leverkusen where he was a player coach at the end of the 1990's.
Italian press said Roma were offering a one-year, two-million dollar contract with an option for another year to Voller, who played for the Italian club during the 1990's.
Voller, who resigned as German national coach after his team's poor performance at Euro 2004 in Portugal, is competing with Luigi Del Neri, former coach of Italian club Chievo and recently-sacked by Portuguese champions Porto.
