Juventus have signed Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic from Dutch giants Ajax, according to Italian agency ANSA.

Juventus coach Fabio Capello, who had tried to sign the Swedish international last year when he was coach at Roma, has signed Ibrahimovic on a four-year deal.

No financial details have been officially revealed but the transfer is expected to cost the Turin-based club around 25 million euros (30 million dollars).

The 22-year-old Ibrahimovic, who has Bosnian-Croat parents, saw his value soar at the recent European Championships in Portugal where Sweden were eliminated at the quarter-final stage on penalties by Holland.

Italians will have less than fond memories of the tall but technically gifted Ibrahimovic, who was almost instrumental in eliminating Italy from the first round of Euro 2004 when he scored in a 1-1 draw between the countries.

Ibrahimovic will be Juventus's second big name signing following the arrival of Italy defender and skipper Fabio Cannavaro from Inter Milan.

The 30-year-old, considered one of the best defenders in the world, has signed a three-year deal that will see him earn 3.5 millions euros per season, a million less than what he was earning at Inter according to Gazzetta dello Sport on Monday.

While Cannavaro will team up with former Parma teammates Lilian Thuram of France and keeper Gigi Buffon at Juventus to boost their back line, Ibrahimovic could partner French international striker David Trezeguet up front despite the fact they are similar in style and build.

Regarding Cannavaro, Juventus are understood to have paid no fee for the Italy skipper after convincing Inter during weekend talks to accept Uruguayan keeper Fabian Carini as part of a straight swap deal.

Carini, who is currently on loan at Belgian side Standard Liege meaning he may not arrive until next summer, has signed a four-year contract with the Milan club who see him as a long-term replacement for Francesco Toldo.
