French international and former Arsenal striker Sylvain Wiltord has signed a two-year contract with Lyon, the French first division club said.

The 30-year-old returns to France after finishing his contract with English champions Arsenal where he played in the 2002 premiership winning team and also won the FA Cup in 2003.

"I was looking for an interesting challenge. I'm really happy to come back to France. I like to go to teams that win and I hope to win with Lyon," said the French international, who has 65 caps and won Euro 2000.

"The goal is to hold on to the title and to go all the way in the Champions League."
