Everton striker Duncan Ferguson has escaped a Football Association charge over alleged racial abuse towards Fulham's Luis Boa-Morte.

Chris Coleman's side had complained about the Scottish striker after the FA Cup fourth round tie at Goodison Park in January.

They claimed Ferguson racially abused the Portugal international but the FA say there is not enough evidence to charge the fiery Ferguson.

"The FA can announce that it found insufficient evidence to charge Mr Ferguson, following allegations of racial abuse by Fulham player Luis Boa-Morte," said an FA statement.

Ferguson is still in trouble with the FA as he has pleaded guilty to violent behaviour and improper conduct charges after the match at Leicester.

Ferguson was sent off during the 1-1 draw but grabbed German midfielder Stefan Freund by the throat during an angry exchange after receiving the red card.
