Aston Villa have signed PSV Eindhoven defender Wilfred Bouma for 3.5 million pounds.

"I am really delighted to be joining Villa," said the Dutch international.

"It is a big club and I am really looking forward to playing for them in the Premier League."

Bouma, 27, began his career with PSV, making his debut in the 1994/95 season, and aside from loan spells with MVV and Fortuna Sittard, has played all his club football for the Dutch outfit.

His arrival at Villa Park follows those of Milan Baros, Kevin Phillips, Patrick Berger, Aaron Hughes and Stuart Taylor this summer.
