Newcastle have rejected claims that manager Graeme Souness was looking to sell England midfielder Jermaine Jenas.
French winger Laurent Robert, who has been loaned out to Portsmouth, alleged that Souness was forcing Jenas out of St James' Park.
But the club said in a statement Thursday: "Jermaine signed a five-year contract until 2008. The player is not for sale and the club has no reason to believe that the player is unhappy."
They also ordered Robert to keep quiet about Newcastle.
"The club is furious over Robert's recent outbursts, which are clearly designed to be disruptive within the club.
"Robert - still a contracted player for Newcastle United - should keep his opinions to himself."
Newcastle fined Robert 180,000 pounds for his comments.
