Veteran midfielder Keith Gillespie shrugged off Sheffield United's loss of their 100-percent home record and tipped his side to maintain their promotion push for the Premiership.

United were held to a 0-0 draw by Cardiff on Saturday but Gillespie was encouraged by the stalemate.

"It was a game we probably would have lost last season," Gillespie said . "It's another point on the board so it's a point we'll take.

"They (Cardiff) have got some good quality and experienced players. They're the first team to come here and get something so it shows they are in a good way.

"There is a long way to go but we've given ourselves a good chance of getting promoted. If we carry on the way we're going we've got every chance come the end of April."

The result did not affect their two-point lead as second-placed Reading were held 1-1 by Leeds, with David Healy, in the 75th minute, cancelling out Brynjar Gunnarsson's 63rd-minute strike.

Third-placed Luton lost at Coventry, where Dele Adebola scored the only goal in the 47th minute.

A 90th-minute equaliser from Crewe's Michael Higdon denied Crystal Palace the chance to move ahead of Leeds into fourth after a 2-2 draw.

Watford moved into fourth after a 3-1 win over Wolves.

Jay DeMerit (69), Marlon King (77) and Paul Devlin (80) made the result safe for the Hornets before Seol Ki-Hyeon hit a last-minute consolation.
