Dwight Yorke celebrates after scoring against Arsenal in October 2002. Sydney FC coach Pierre Littbarski said Yorke is poised for greater things in Australia's new A-League football series.
Former Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke is poised for greater things in Australia's new A-League football series, his Sydney FC coach Pierre Littbarski said.
The Trinidadian striker has netted three goals in four appearances in the A-League, but former German World Cup winner Littbarski believes there's much more to come.
"I think we will see an even better Dwight Yorke in the coming weeks and matches," Littbarski said Friday.
"When he came to us he had not played a lot of matches and he had to work very hard on his fitness, which he has done.
"He has been doing well but I think we have not seen the best of Dwight yet. We are just starting to learn to play better as a team and we showed a lot of improvement against Queensland (Roar) last weekend.
"When we improve as a team he will be better also."
Sydney FC are fourth in the eight-team A-League after five matches, four points behind leaders Adelaide United.
