Werder Bremen's Croatian international Jurica Vranjes has extended his contract with the German side for three years to June 2011, the club said Friday.

The midfielder, who interests French side Monaco, joined the northern side in 2005 and has 71 matches under his belt, netting five goals in the Bundesliga.

Vranjes, 28, previously played for Bayer Leverkusen (1999-2003) and VfB Stuttgart (2003-05).

He has won 22 full caps for Croatia, but has not appeared for his country in the past three seasons.
