Hoeness' 'worried' by Bayern's slump

Bayern Munich team manager Uli Hoeness admits he is worried after the German giants slumped to their second consecutive league defeat with their first loss in Hanover for 20 years.

Having been routed 5-2 in Munich the week before by Werder Bremen, the defending Bundesliga champions, under new coach Jurgen Klinsmann, were beaten 1-0 thanks to a goal by Hanover's Szablocs Husti in the 23rd minute.

Bayern rested several of their stars including Germany midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger, Dutch captain Mark van Bommel and had Franck Ribery on the bench.

But Klinsmann's side struggled against a poor Hanover team - bad preparation before their Champions League game against Lyon at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday.

Saturday's defeat left Bayern ninth before Sunday's matches and was the first time they had lost in Hanover since April 16 1988.

"The sight of the table is not pretty," said Hoeness.

"That makes me worried, no question.

"I do not believe that this defeat had something to do with rotation.

"One cannot say that the team which played was any worse than Hanover."
