The US national team ended its 1999 fixture list with defeat in Marrakech to Morocco as both sides prepare for some decisive action soon.
Morocco staged this friendly as they prepare for the FIFA inspection team to look over their bid to host the 2006 World Cup. The stadium in Marrakech is set for major refurbishment even if the Moroccans lose the bidding and they will also upgrade several other stadiums.
The US are to meet again in january to start preparations for the February Gold Cup tournament run by CONCACAF and were the victims of a questionable penalty decision to decide this game.

Ramzi hit an excellent low drive to beat the in form Keller in the 15th minute while Eric Wynalda scored his first goal in twenty months for the national team with a close range finish in the 17th minute.
