A last minute equaliser from Milen Fukal saved Sparta Prague from defeat in Portugal as FC Porto threw away a two goal lead.
The draw leaves FC Porto still needing at least a point in their final game next week to ensure a place in the next round.
Their nerves showed ina tense close to the game as they tried to portect a narrow lead but Fukal hit home a loose bal in the penalty area to level the scores.
Sparta deserved something from the game after going on the attack following the concession of two early goals.
A low drive from Jorge Costa had given Porto the lead in the 16th minute and two minutes later the Portuguese champions were on the verge of the quarter finals as Capucho put them 2-0 up with an angled drive.
The Czech side revived in the 28th minute when Lokvenc scored and contributed some good counter attacks in the second half that saw them establish control of the game near the end with Porto trying to hang on against their presure.
Porto need the other Group A result in the last round of matches to help them next week. They lead Hertha Berlin and Sparta Prague by only two points.
