Champions League - Helsingborg 2 Rosenborg 0

First Published: Oct 18, 2000

Helsingborg crashed the Norwegian champions title winning party with a 2-0 victory.

The Swedish side were hammered 6-0 by the Trondheim club three weeks ago and Rosenborg have since gone on to win their ninth successive Norwegian championship with a 9-0 win at the weekend.

None of that glory travelled with them to Sweden and defender Erik Hoftun was sent off in the 73rd minute but by then the visitors were trailing to a 32nd minute Jesper Jansson effort when he was put through by Jozo Matovac.

Brazilian striker Alvaro Santos sealed the win with a close range finish in the 77th minute.
