Champions League - Olympiakos 2 Heerenveen 0

Two goals from Brazilian Giovanni provided the extra fire power Olympiakos needed to defeat Heerenveen.

The Dutch team produced their best performance of the Champions League so far and were holding the Greek champions at half time with better passing and movement.

The Athens side needed something to get back on top after two real scares in the first five minutes when Heerenveen came close on two quick breaks.

Giovanni rescued the second half for Olympiakos with a low drive in the 52nd minute and a close range finish on 69 minutes.
