Tunisia kept their concentration as the game was marred by a stoppage in play when home fans threw rubbish at officials. They were protesting against referee Koman Koulibaly but Tunisia proved to good for the home team. The visitors took the lead in the 14th minute when defender Khaled Badra scored with a header and Zoubier Baya settled the game the midfielder hit two goals in two minutes. The first came from a loose ball and he added the third with a long range chip from twenty metres outside the penalty area for a sensational finish.
