First Published: Mar 28, 2001

This 0-0 draw kept the Czech Republic on top of group three.

They have 11 points from five games, one more than Bulgaria, who moved up to second place by beating Northern Ireland 4-3. Denmark are now third with nine points.

Liverpool's Vladimir Smicer had three good chances at close range but Sunderland goalkeeper Soerensen saved all three.

Midfielder Karel Poborsky had the best chance of the game for the home side in the 70th minute when he was put clear by Anderlecht striker Jan Koller but hit his shot wide.
