West Ham have broken their transfer record to bring midfielder Don Hutchison back to the London club.
Hutchison left West Ham in 1996 to join Everton and has cost them £5 million to re-sign the Scottish international who is expected to start for his country in the home World Cup qualifier against Croatia on Saturday.
The former Liverpool player has left Sunderland after his family failed to settle in the north east following his move from Everton last August. The 30 year old was a popular player with West Ham in his first spell with the London club which helped to revive his international career. He passed a medical last night to complete the formalities of signing a four year contract.
