Republic of Ireland v Denmark is called off

Denmark's friendly tonight in Dublin against the Republic of Ireland at Lansdowne Road has been called off.

The game was abandoned for safety reasons because ice has covered the terracing at the ground and poor weather means the game will not go ahead.

The game was one of twelve friendlies taking place tonight. Among the fixtures is Argentina's first game against Italy since a penalty shoot out win in 1990 in a World Cup semi final. England host Spain at Villa Park in Birmingham in Sven Goran Eriksson's first game in charge of the English national team.

There are two 2002 World Cup qualifiers as well .Belgium face San Marino and Portugal meet Andorra.
