Germany goalkeeper Oliver Khan has refused to blame a hand injury for the goal which put Brazil on the way to a fifth World Cup win.
Kahn was unable to hold or save a low drive from Rivaldo in the 68th minute of yesterday’s Yokohama final allowing Ronaldo to score from the rebound and set up Brazil’s World Cup win.
But 33 year old Kahn denies that a hand injury was afactor in his failure to save the initial shot that saw Ronaldo pounce on goal.
"That had nothing to do with the goal," he said.
"A finger ligament is torn. It will take a few weeks to heal but we have a couple of weeks holiday now.
