AS Roma are to sign Germany top scorer Miroslav Klose next year after securing the first part of a deal with Kaiserslautern.
Roma and Italian champions Juventus both made offers for Klose two weeks ago with the player hitting five goals so far at the World Cup finals to help Germany into a semi final place.
Roma have secured a pre contract to start in 2003 with the Bundesliga side getting just over £6 million in a transfer fee. Klose has a clause in his contract to leave ‘Lautern for £6 million next year but a reduced fee if the German club hang onto him for an extra year.
