Three goals from midfielder Ali Karimi including a late winner helped Iran to victory as they prepare for World Cup qualifiers later this month.
Iran face Saudi Arabia next week and this work out could prove to be just the preparation they need.
Karimi hit his first goal with a close range drive in the 7th minute and followed it up by hitting in a cross nine minutes later as Slovakia looked lost.
Two goals in two minutes from Tomas Oravec put them back on level terms as he headed in a corner from Inter midfielder Vratislav Gresko in the 18th minute and scored with another header to loop in a long Miroslav Karhan punt up field seconds later.
Iran then conceded the lead after Karhan hit a cross that Robert Vittek jumped to head down and in but the visitors rallied as Alireza Vahedi hit a long range drive into the top corner in the dying seconds of the half.
Substitutions all round disrupted Iran in the second half and the Slovaks passed better but Karimi scored the 83rd minute winner from a counter attack that saw him shot in off the post as the home defence were caught out of position
