Oman earned a 0-0 draw in Doha against Qatar as the decisive round of Asian World Cup qualifying matches got underway.

Although Oman clerarly came to defend a point the home team regularly played through their defence and Mohammed Salem al-Enazi hit the bar with a rising shot in the 7th minute. Five minutes later Yasser Nazmi al-Quisi came close to hitting the wodwork with a long range drive and Dahi Saad al-Naemi hit the best shot of the night against the Oman crossbar in the 28th minute.
