Two goals from Luis Figo helped Portugal to a 3-0 win over Andorra in Funchal.
The Real Madrid star takes part in Europe's game of the season so far when his team hosts his former club FC Barcelona at the weekend.
He limbered up for that clash by scoring in the first minute of this match.
Rui Costa found Figo on a run from the kick-off and he whipped a shot past goalkeeper Koldo Alvarez.
Pauleta scored Portugal's second in the 38th minute with a header from a pin point Figo cross.
Figo grabbed his second goal of the night in the 48th minute when he controlled a Nuno Gomes pass and ran through the defence for a neat finish.
