Slovenia needed an 83rd minute winner from Sebastjan Cimirotic to get past Switzerland.

Substitute Cimirotic picked up a back pass from Swiss defender Stephane Henchoz and guided the ball on the run past goalkeeper Marco Pascolo.

Slovenia are now chasing a play-off place behind group one leaders Russia.
