Iceland were able to hold Bulgaria to a 1-1 draw to keep group three very tight.

The home side took the lead when a Eidur Smari Gudjohnsen free kick was headed in after a good jump by Rikhardur Dadason.

Dimitar Berbatov equalised in the 36th minute with a deflected free kick. The top four teams in the section are now separated by only three points as Iceland, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic and leaders Denmark stay in contention.
