Okan Buruk put Turkey one step from the 2002 World Cup finals with the winning goal in Vienna.

The away goal means the Turks are favourites to reach Korea and Japan next May afer Okan scored in the 61st minute when he collected the bal in space to score from close range.

But the Turks needed a great display from goalkeeper Rustu Recber to twice defy headers from Mario Haas with another Haas headed effort coming back off the cross bar.
